A rare aggressive nature of Abhishek Sharma during the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 Super Four match. Sharma not only replied to Pakistani bowlers through his batting but also chose to throw words at them. Why did Sharma go so aggressively against the Pakistan cricket team? Pakistan posted 171 runs, batting first at Dubai International Stadium on September 21. From the beginning of the second innings, the opening pair of Team India—Abhishek Sharma and vice captain Shubman Gill—started to score runs swiftly. Sharma opened his and his team's account with a massive six against Shaheen Afridi in the very first ball of the innings. The southpaw scored 74 off 39 for a winning cause and was named the best player of the match. His innings was laced with 6 boundaries and 5 over-boundaries. 

Excitement started to rise gradually as the match progressed. During this time, when Sharma was in full swing, there were several occasions in the middle when the 25-year-old was involved in heated exchanges with Pakistani bowlers. He is known for his aggression with the bat, not through his mouth.

Why Abhishek Sharma went aggressive against Pakistan bowlers? 

First, Abhishek was engaged in a fiery exchange with Shaheen Afridi. Then, during the middle of the innings, Sharma's spat of words was with another Pakistani pacer, Haris Rauf. After the match, the batter explained that he did not tolerate the way Pakistan bowlers again and again came close to him. That's why he chose to take the counter-attacking path. 

"Today was pretty simple; the way they were coming out to us without any reason, I did not like it at all. That's why I went after them," Abhishek Sharma said.
