During the 24th fixture of The Hundred 2025, Northern Superchargers locked horns with Oval Invincibles at Leeds in Headingley. The touring captain, Sam Billings, won the toss and decided to bowl first on a surface that appeared to be full of runs. 

The home captain, Harry Brook, and the management decided to make one solitary change in the playing eleven as they brought back Samit Patel. For the Invincibles, Jordan Clark and Gus Atkinson got into the playing eleven, with Rashid Khan and Saqib Mahmood getting rested.

Harry Brook’s half-century powers Northern Superchargers to 198/4

Zak Crawley and Dawid Malan, the two opening batters of the Superchargers, gave a very strong opening partnership to the side, with 76 runs coming in 38 balls. The former smashed 49 runs in 25 balls at a strike rate of 196 with the help of five boundaries and three sixes at a strike rate of 196.

Malan cracked 34 runs in 21 balls, shouldering on four boundaries and one six at a strike rate of 161.90. Brook has clubbed 56 runs in 27 balls at a strike rate of 207.41, with the help of three boundaries and five sixes. David Miller, the southpaw, remained unbeaten on 37 runs in 16 balls at a strike rate of 231.25. They posted 198/4 in their allotted 100 balls.

Oval Invincibles lose winning streak by 16 runs

Will Jacks, Tawanda Muyeye, and Jordan Cox- all the top three batters of the visitors struggled to get going in the chase. Sam Curran blasted a fine knock of 30 runs in 19 balls at a strike rate of nearly 160 with the help of two fours and two sixes.

Donovan Ferreira nailed a fine knock of 41 runs in 15 balls at a strike rate of 273.33, with the help of three boundaries and four over boundaries. Oval posted 182/7 in their allotted 100 balls to face a defeat by 16 runs.
