Heading into the auction of The Hundred 2026, the focus was always on how the franchises would deal with the Pakistan players in the bidding war. When the premier pacer of the side, Haris Rauf, went unsold at the start of the auction, many reckoned that the same trend would follow. It didn’t go in the same direction by the end of the auction, but the auction painted a bright picture of the teams’ positions.

Usman Tariq became the first player of the auction to get picked. He came into the bidding process for a price of 100K pounds as the Birmingham Phoenix first raised their paddle before the Trent Rockets joined the war and raised the price to 140K pounds, in which the Phoenix signed the off-spinner of the side.

In T20s, the spinner has collected 78 wickets in 47 innings at an average of 16.19 and an economy rate of 6.87.

Sunrisers Leeds successfully bought the mystery spinner of the Pakistan side, Abrar Ahmed, for a price of 190k pounds in the morning, as he became the first Pakistan player to be signed by the Indian-owned team in the event. The Indian media Sun TV completed the full takeover of the franchise known as the Northern Superchargers in 2025, buying a 49% stake from ECB.

Abrar Ahmed has overall picked up 52 wickets in the shortest format at an average of 17.36 and a strike rate of 15.60 with an economy rate of 6.67. Meanwhile, the leg spinner has bagged 109 wickets in 83 innings of the T20 format at an economy rate of 7.20.

Among the unsold players of the Pakistan side, they have Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, and Saim Ayub, while the likes of Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim didn’t even get nominated for the auction.
