An absolute standout bowling performance by Sachin Rathi, five wickets in 4 overs with a 4.25 economy rate, paved a path to an easy victory for Nellai Royal Kings (NRK) over Salem Spartans (SS). With 32 balls to spare, Kings won the match by 8 wickets. 

Toss and the first innings:

The TNPL 2025 match was truly exciting because of multiple talented cricketers from the locals. Unlike casting stars in the first XI, both teams performed in game 13 of the tournament, mostly relying on underrated players. Out of them, Rathi emerged as the man of the match of the game for his fifer. He single-handedly clinched the top 4 batters of Salem's lineup. Apart from the opener C Hari Nishaanth, who scored 50 off 32, the top and middle order of SS completely collapsed and ended their innings with only 126 for 9 wickets.

Second innings:

The path of destruction created by Rathi was further extended by Santhosh Kumar Duraisamy. The 22-year-old batter came as an impact player in the opening slot and played a 36-ball, 73-run innings with a strike rate over 200. First Rathi and then Kumar, after two individually brilliant performances from NRK, SS barely found any position to defend. The match concluded before the 14th over ended, and Kings claimed a royal win.
