Northern Superchargers Women lost to Southern Brave Women in the Hundred women's 2025 match 11

Northern Superchargers Women were beaten comprehensively by Southern Brave Women, by 8 wickets, in Match 11 of The Hundred Women's 2025. The decision to bat first, however, did not pay off, as they made only 102 runs, with captain Hollie Armitage's 36 off 28 being the only positive aspect of the innings. The Brave bowlers did not give an inch, and the chase was completed in 83 balls; thus, the home side could celebrate a victory without stress. Here are the main reasons for Northern Superchargers Women’s loss:

1. Bowled out for a low total—only 102

Northern Superchargers were bowled out for just 102 runs in 100 balls after batting first. This was well short of an adequate target in The Hundred context and put pressure on their bowlers to defend a low score.

2. Impactful bowling from Southern Brave

Sophie Devine 3/15 took apart the batting order, removing the most important players at the most important times. Georgia Adams' 2/20 was of great assistance, as it not only slowed down the scoring but also led to the opponent's mistake due to the pressure applied. This combined pressure meant Northern Superchargers never built momentum in their innings.

3. Brave’s aggressive and composed chase

Danielle Wyatt's explosive 43 off 31 balls handed Brave a flying start to their innings, putting the chase in front of the game before the second wicket fell. Laura Wolvaardt was excellent as the anchor, scoring an unbeaten 33 off 29, and maintaining the pace of the innings after two wickets had fallen. Sophie Devine (15 off 8 balls) finished the job quickly, which only highlighted Brave's dominance with the bat.
