Batting first, Invincibles scored only 109/7 from their 100 balls, led by Meg Lanning with 45 runs from 35 balls. The Rockets, under the leadership of bowlers Ashleigh Gardner and Kirstie Gordon, restricted the Invincibles during the entire innings. Rockets bowled out Invincibles in just 84 balls, easily reaching 113/4 with a commitment to chasing down the target. Here are the top reasons why Oval Invincibles Women lost the match.

The innings of the Invincibles were never up to the mark, as they ended up with only 109/7. Meg Lanning’s score of 45 was the only bright light, as she received very little support from her partners Lanning (16)* and Alice Capsey (15)*. The Invincibles did not build partnerships nor rotate the strike to make a score that was defendable.

2. Rockets’ Bowlers Dominating 

Trent Rockets’ attack was disciplined and effective, striking at crucial moments. Ashleigh Gardner (2/10 in 10 balls) and Kirstie Gordon (2/21 in 20 balls) were excellent, and Alexa Stonehouse added 1/5.
