Trent Rockets Women lost to Southern Brave Women in the Hundred women's 2025 Match 15

In match 15, Trent Rockets Women were bowled out for 106 runs in their 100 balls. The only players of any significance with the bat were Kirstie Gordon (32), Ashleigh Gardner (25), and Alana King (24). Southern Brave had no trouble chasing the target, reaching 109/4 in 98 balls by a solid opening partnership through Maia Bouchier (42) and Sophie Devine (41*) to achieve a comfortable 6-wicket win to extend their winning run in The Hundred 2025. Here are the main reasons why the Trent Rockets Women lost the match:

1. Weak Batting Contributions

Other than some starts from Gordon, Gardner, and King, the rest of the Rockets’ batting lineupfell away. None of the others made double figures and the total was well short of being competitive. A string of batsmen fell with no partnerships allowed to develop and it made life easy for the Brave’s bowlers.

2. Southern Brave’s Bowling Dominance

The Brave bowlers dismantled Rockets’ batting with lethal spells. Tilly Corteen Coleman (4/13) and Lauren Bell (3/16) ran through the middle order, while Sophie Devine chipped in with 2/30. Their discipline ensured the Rockets never gained momentum.

3. Clinical Chase by Southern Brave

Chasing 107 was simple, particularly considering the solid contribution from the top order. Maia Bouchier (42 off 30) got their innings rolling quickly, and Sophie Devine (41* off 42) somewhat leisurely steered the chase. Though the Rockets took four wickets, the Brave batting order was deep enough to make it a comfortable finish.
