Cheteshwar Pujara has announces retirement from all forms of cricket. On August 24, Pujara took to his social media account to announce his retirement from all forms of cricket. In a heartfelt post, he thanked BCCI, Indian team, his family and friends as well as fans for the support throughout. Pujara debuted for India with the Test match against Australia in Bengaluru in 2010. He wen onto play 103 tests and five one day internationals.

In Tests, he batted in 176 innings and scored 7195 runs at an average of 43.60 with a highest score of unbeaten 206 runs. After Rahul Dravid, he was considered as a test maverick to come out from India. He acted as a wall batting in the middle order for the Indian team. His last test match was against Australia at the oval in 2023, which was the final of world Test Championship. In his last test match, he scored 14 runs in the first inning and 27 runs in the second innings innings.

There were rumors that Pujara might play the upcoming Ranji trophy but with this post, Pujara has put an end to that discussion. He was seen commentating and presenting during the India series against England, and the veteran might follow the suit as his predecessors with that role.
