The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the India vs New Zealand ODI series. The board has already announced the T20I squad for the contest with multiple unexpected decisions. Now, reports about the probable squad for the ODI have also been emerging. It is believed that batting maestro Virat Kohli can be rested for the series.

Virat Kohli has been pursuing his batting practice ahead of a couple of series. Kohli is set to feature in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for his state team, Delhi, which is set to start from tomorrow (December 24). Then, he is poised to play the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand.

If the latest speculations are to be believed, then the batter can miss the India vs New Zealand ODI contest. It is further reported that, in place of the 37-year-old, the team management can give young and emerging players more opportunities. This possible move is aimed at providing chances to fresh talents so that they can gain valuable international experience and strengthen India’s bench strength for the future.
