Arshdeep Singh reveals his desire to play Test cricket.

Arshdeep Singh, the left-arm pacer for the Indian side, has made his fame playing in the shortest format. He has an incredible skill of swinging the ball in both ways inside the powerplay and coming back strongly during the last four overs at the death. Overall, he has picked 101 wickets in 65 innings at an average of 18.76 and an economy rate of 8.37.

However, Arshdeep, during the recent episode of ‘Breakfast with Champions’, reckoned that he would always want to feature in Test cricket for India. He felt that people would always remember a fine spell from the longest format, even if it had come two decades ago.

“From Test cricket, you get a different level of respect. People remember you like you played for some 50 T20Is, but when you play Test cricket, they remember that in 1992 or odd, he bowled a fine spell of four overs. People always remember that. I have said that even in my channel that everyone should focus on the red ball. These days, everyone just wants to get some fame.” Arshdeep Singh expressed.

Arshdeep, who didn’t play a single Test against England in the UK despite being part of the squad, reckoned that the pain on the next morning of bowling 20 overs in a Test match would always excite him. He loves the physical and mental demands the five-day format brings to the table.

“Everyone wants to earn money through the IPL, and that’s why the craze for the red-ball is decreasing. You can play ODIs and T20Is, but the excitement for the Tests is at a different level. Because when you bowl 20 overs, you can’t understand where the pain is coming from the next morning.” The Punjab-born shed light in the same interaction.

“Then you take a hot shower and try to find the spot the pain is coming from. Your hamstring and neck remain tight, and that gives you amusement. I experienced Test cricket recently. Even though I didn’t play and watch it from the outside world, I realized how hard it becomes mentally and physically.” Arshdeep Singh concluded.
