When Shubman Gill became India’s Test captain and got the chance to bat at number three for the Indian side in the longest format, post the retirements of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, he had several things on his plate, starting from the captaincy and scoring runs to shoulder the responsibility.

Under Gill, India drew the five-match Test series against England by a margin of 2-2 in the United Kingdom, including the six-run victory at the Kennington Oval. Their premier pacer, Mohammed Siraj, shared his bond and friendship with the Punjab-born.
