The last few games between the two arch-rivals, India and Pakistan, have been marked by drama across the men’s, women’s, or A-side. And the same ritual continued even in the Men’s U-19 Asia Cup 2025 between the two sides at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai. Ahead of the game, the ACC wanted the players to continue the game in normal ways, but the final decision was with the two boards.

In the toss, when India’s captain Ayush Mhatre lost the toss and was asked to bowl first, he didn’t shake hands and even went a step forward by not even looking at the captain of the Pakistan side, Farhan Yousuf. That was a pure signal of what was to come by the end of the clash.

And that exactly happened when the Blue Brigade collected a victory by 90 runs by bundling out the Pakistan side for 150 runs in 41.2 overs in the chase of 240 runs. The Indian players congratulated each other and shook hands while the two Pakistan players waited for a few seconds before making their way out of the ground.

India lost their in-form opening batter, Vaibhav Suryvanshi, early in the first innings for five runs, while Mhatre smashed 38 runs in 25 balls at a strike rate of 152, thanks to four boundaries and three sixes. Their number three batter, Aaron George, nailed 85 runs in 88 balls at a strike rate of just under 100, thanks to 12 boundaries and one six.

Their lower-middle order batter, Kanishk Chouhan, slammed 46 runs at a strike rate of 100, shouldering on two fours and three sixes as they got bundled out for 240 in 46.1 overs. On a skiddy surface, it was expected to be a tough chase.

Pakistan didn’t have any major contribution in the batting department, apart from their middle-order batter, Huzaifa Ahsan, who scored 70 runs at a strike rate of 84, with the help of nine boundaries and two sixes. India continued their dominance with two successive wins in as many games.
