When India posted 175 during the T20 World Cup 2026 encounter against Pakistan at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, it became the highest score in the history of the T20 World Cup between these two countries, which showed how much pressure would be on the chasing side, especially on a surface that was helping the spinners once the ball got a little old.

And Pakistan made a very bad start in their chase as they lost three wickets in the first two overs of the second innings. The premier pacer of the Indian side, Jasprit Bumrah, collected both the wickets in his first six balls, including the aggressive opening batter Saim Ayub.

The left-handed opening batter used his feet against the short ball of Bumrah and fortunately got a six behind the wicket. However, on the very next delivery, the Gujarat bowler used his smartness and put up a vicious yorker against the left-handed batter, who missed it completely.

The ball hit the batter in the front pad in the line with the middle stamp before he could get his bat down or move his leg away, as the entire Indian team appealed before the umpire raised his finger. The review could not save the Pakistan batter as he went back to the dugout for six runs in two balls.

On the last delivery of the same over, Bumrah sent back the Pakistan captain, Salman Ali Agha. The right-handed batter planted his front foot across the line and tried to flick it over the middle-on region, only to get the ball balloon in the air before Hardik Pandya completed a simple catch to send the batter back into the pavilion.

India posted a strong score of 175 for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs as their opening batter Ishan Kishan nailed a fine knock of 77 runs in just 40 deliveries with the help of 10 boundaries and three sixes. Shivam Dube also contributed 27 runs in just 17 deliveries, thanks to his three boundaries and one six.

Brief Scores: India 175/7 (Ishan Kishan 77, Suryakumar Kumar 32. Saim Ayub 3/25) vs Pakistan 38/4 (Usman Khan 21*, Jasprit Bumrah 2/17)
