As India batted first in their T20 World Cup 2026 clash against Pakistan in Colombo, they got off to a strong start. Then Bumrah dismissed Salman Agha. Pakistan were in absolute shambles, three wickets down for just 13 runs. It was a good-length delivery, and Agha tried to flick it on the leg side but missed.

Hardik Pandya Strikes Early

Pakistan lost their first wicket as star all-rounder Hardik Pandya made an immediate impact in the first over. Pandya provided India with an early breakthrough, reducing Pakistan to 1/0. A short-length delivery outside off-stump induced a mistimed shot from Sahibzada Farhan, who attempted to pull the ball on the leg side but edged it into the air. Rinku Singh held a safe catch at mid-on to send him back to the pavilion.

Pakistan’s Top Order Collapses

The top three of the Pakistan batting line-up managed just 10 runs collectively – 0 (Sahibzada Farhan), 6 (Saim Ayub), and 4 (Salman Agha). This marks their lowest aggregate for the top three in a T20 World Cup match, as well as the lowest against India. Early wickets handed India a significant advantage and put Pakistan on the back foot in a crucial group-stage encounter.
