Ravindra Jadeja missed his hundred by just 11 runs. He got out for 89 after facing a tough bouncer from Josh Tongue. The England fast bowler bowled it short and sharp. Jadeja tried to play it but could only glove it to wicketkeeper Jamie Smith.

It was a big moment because Jadeja and Shubman Gill had put together a huge 203-run partnership. Jadeja hit 10 fours and a six in his strong, steady innings. Even though he got out just before lunch on Day 2 in Birmingham, his knock helped India get into a strong position.

Shubman Gill played really well too. He smashed a big sweep shot for six off Shoaib Bashir to bring up the 200-run stand. At lunch, he was still unbeaten on 168, looking calm and in control.
