Kuldeep Yadav drops Saim Ayub's catch.

Pakistan seemed to have come up with a new aggressive plan for the Super 4 clash against India at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. From the very first over against Hardik Pandya, most of their batters have looked to nail the big shot, which has put pressure on the opposition bowlers, especially Jasprit Bumrah, who couldn’t find his length.

Hardik got the wicket of Fakhar Zaman, who got an outside edge into the hands of the wicket-keeper, Sanju Samson, who grabbed a controversial catch, as the ball nearly dropped before the gloves. India’s fielding, however, was really poor this evening. Abhishek Sharma had already dropped Sahibzada Farhan in the opening over. And Kuldeep Yadav became the second one in the list.

And this same trend continues into the fifth over of the innings, when Ayub couldn’t read the Varun Chakravarthy delivery and went for a slog sweep. The ball ballooned in the air as it was put down by Kuldeep Yadav. He stood there for as long as the ball popped on his hands and gobbled at the end to touch the round.

Farhan is the main game-changer for the Pakistan side with the bat. On the second ball of the last powerplay over, he cleared the front leg and went hard at the ball through mid-wicket for a boundary before clearing the 30-yard circle on the last ball of the over to end on a high.

Against India in 15 T20Is, it was the highest score of 55/1 for the side in the powerplay, surpassing 54/0 in 2012. Farhan got another six against Chakravarthy as Abhishek shelled a tough chance with the ball crossing the rope after getting a touch of his hand. With six against Axar Patel, he celebrated his half-century in 34 balls.

Ayub, on the other hand, put immense pressure on Kuldeep by nailing a six after using his feet to tonk the ball over the long-on region. They were 91/1 in 10 overs, which is the third-highest score at that mark in this Asia Cup 2025.
