Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis congratulated and felicitated Rohit Sharma, who only a few days ago officially announced his retirement from test cricket. The felicitation ceremony was arranged on Tuesday (May 13) at CM's official residence at Varsha.

Later, Fadnavis shared his thoughts about the meeting with one of the most successful captains of Team India. Expressing both admiration and best wishes for Sharma, the Maharashtra CM, from his official 'X' account, wrote, "It is great to welcome, meet, and interact with Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma at my official residence, Varsha. I extended my best wishes to him on his retirement from Test cricket and for continued success in the next chapter of his journey."

Pictures shared with the post have sparked controversy among a part of netizens. Some started to question, 'Is Rohit Sharma joining the BJP?" Another comment from a net user was, "1st photo dekh ke laga koi politician aaya hai aapse milne (From the first photo it seems that a politician has come to meet up)." As for now, there was a connection between Rohit Sharma and politics. People who are speculating about Sharma and the BJP have no strong base.
