Mahboob Khan’s lightning-fast stumping dismisses Muhammad Bulbulia

The Afghanistan side locked horns with the South Africa side at the High Performance Oval in Windhoek during the sixth encounter of the ongoing 2026 season of the Under-19 World Cup in Zimbabwe and Namibia. The former ended up winning the clash by 28 runs, thanks to their superb fielding and bowling performances.

The South Africa captain, Muhammad Bulbulia, was dismissed for 17 runs in just 35 balls, thanks to the lightning for stumping from Afghanistan’s wicket-keeper, Mahboob Khan. The incident took place on the third ball of the 14th over of the innings when the right-handed batter looked to reverse sweep the spinner.

The ball ended up taking an edge of the batter’s blade and drifted away towards the leg side as the Afghanistan side was busy appealing for the leg before the wicket dismissal. But the Afghanistan keeper was well aware of the situation as he flicked the ball and hit the stumps to run the batter out.

Bulbulia had no idea of the ball’s location as he was slowly strolling back to his crease backwards. But that was an excellent presence of mind from the Afghanistan keeper, who, despite the appeals, ran into the leg side of the batter and picked the ball before throwing it with just one stump to aim at and became successful in the process.
