One of the journalists from Pakistan has complained to the United States of America (USA) about the current power of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in cricket ahead of the 2026 season of the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, where the Pakistan side will begin their campaign on February 07 against the Netherlands in Colombo.

The Indian side will begin their campaign on the same day against the United States of America at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. They will fly to Colombo for the clash against Pakistan due to the mutual agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

“So, look, in terms of the bilateral relationships between India and Pakistan, that is something for them to speak on. Whether it’s sports or other things, I will let them speak on this or the other things, relating the bilateral things, which isn’t part of our talking point. The USA diplomat has expressed concern as the video goes viral on social media platforms.

Over the past week, the discussion has been around whether Pakistan will feature in the T20 World Cup 2026 or they boycott the clash against India, which could see them being imposed with several sanctions of the ICC, as the final decision is going to come from the PCB chief, Mohsin Naqvi.

“Our stance [on World Cup participation] will be what the government of Pakistan instructs me. The Prime Minister is not in Pakistan right now. When he returns, I'll be able to give you our final decision. It's the government's decision. We obey them, not the ICC.Naqvi claimed on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“You can't have double standards. You can't say for one country [India] they can do whatever they want, and for the others to have to do the complete opposite. That's why we've taken this stand and made clear that Bangladesh has had an injustice done to it. They should play in the World Cup; they are a major stakeholder in cricket. He addressed.
