Wicket in the first ball of the spell. Jasprit Bumrah came and delivered in style. Bails took off from the stumps. New Zealand batter Tim Seifert could not do anything against the ripper. Bumrah claimed a wicket in the very first ball of his spell in the 3rd match of the ongoing 5-match T20I series between India and New Zealand (IND vs NZ 3rd T20I).

With a 2-0 lead, India went on to face New Zealand for the third match of the ongoing series at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. Suryakumar Yadav invited the visitors to bat first after winning the toss.

Harshit Rana and Hardik Pandya instantly pushed the Blackcaps on the back foot by taking two crucial wickets with the new ball. Rana again took Devon Conway's wicket while Pandya clinched Rachin Ravindra from the track. New Zealand lost their two top-order batters for only 13 runs on the board. Bumrah took the third dismissal of the first innings.

Jasprit Bumrah bowled out Tim Seifert in the first ball of spell

After two overs each from Rana and Pandya, Yadav brought Jasprit Bumrah into the attack, which instantly proved very effective as the ace pacer got his man on the first ball of his spell. On the first delivery of the fifth over, Bumrah placed an inswinging delivery on the good length area, which nicked through between the bat and the pad to dismantle the stumps. The right-handed batter went on his front foot to defend the delivery but missed everything and was eventually bowled out for 12 runs after playing 11 balls. New Zealand lost their third batter on 34 runs.

The bowling department of Team India controlled the first innings from the beginning. With two back-to-back wins, India needs one more victory to claim the T20I series ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026.
