The former Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, who was removed from the ODI captaincy of the national side ahead of the three-match 50-over series against Australia down under, with the board appointing Shubman Gill as the captain, was present in Mumbai during the CEAT Award 2025 function along with his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, including many former and present cricketers.

Rohit, during a video that went viral on various social media platforms, was seen wearing a black T-shirt and cap as he fastens his seatbelt and takes his Tesla car for a spin outside. The interesting part of the car is the number plate, which is based on the birthdates of the Indian batter's daughter, Samaira, who was born on December 30, while his son Ahaan was born on November 15.

It's not the first time, as the Mumbai batter has also used the same number plate for his new Lamborghini Urus SE, which is of an eye-catching orange color. His garage boasts a spectacular collection of premium vehicles, ranging from BMWs and Mercedes to his earlier Lamborghini Urus.

Rohit Sharma led the Indian side to the runners-up of the ODI World Cup 2023 at home, losing the final to Australia, before earning the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados by defeating South Africa in the final, while they also got the better of New Zealand during the Champions Trophy earlier this year at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

“It's not about one year or two years of work. It was about getting into work after many years. We'd come so close to winning that trophy many times, but we couldn’t just get over the line. That is where everyone decided that we need to do something different.” The Nagpur-born addressed during the interaction at the CEAT Awards function.

Rohit will, however, be under pressure to score runs down under in the next ODI series. It will be a challenge for him to find the same rhythm and form, having not played any comparative cricket since the end of the IPL 2025, but he will have to score runs to keep his spot in the national side.
