Rohit Sharma madness turns in airport as India reaches Sydney.

The Indian cricket team has arrived in Sydney ahead of the third and final 50-over clash of the ongoing ODI series against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on October 25. They hope to avoid their rare clean sweep after consecutive defeats at the Optus Stadium in Perth and the Adelaide Oval.

The hosts sealed the series by a 2-0 series margin with a nail-biting two-wicket win, leaving the Blue Brigade chasing both the result and the much-needed confidence. Rohit Sharma, the former Indian captain of the 50-over captain who was taken out of the leadership responsibilities with Shubman Gill, was under tremendous pressure after failing in the opening game by eight runs.

In the opening game, he was squared up against the right-arm pacer, Josh Hazlewood, and got an outside edge into the hands of the slip region. The veteran looked a bit rusty in the middle and couldn’t get the bat in touch with the ball in the powerplay overs.

Rohit Sharma was the central figure of the team’s recent ODI campaigns and was mobbed for selfies and autographs, reflecting his immense popularity among the lovers of the game. With an unchanged eleven in the first two encounters, the Blue Brigade might look to shuffle the deck in Sydney.

The young left-handed opening batter of the Blue Brigade, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and fast bowler, Prasidh Krishna, could be instructed to inject the fresh energy into a side missing the brilliance of Hardik Pandya. The newly appointed captain, Shubman Gill, hasn’t fired consistently with the bat, and faced severe challenges in selecting the right eleven.

The Nagpur-born opening batter of the Indian cricket team smashed 73 runs in the second game in 97 deliveries with the help of seven boundaries and a couple of sixes at a strike rate of 75.26. This was his slowest half-century with the bat since the 2015 World Cup down under.
