Rohit Sharma's hilarious reaction on meeting his friend.

Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain of the 50-over format, has been in the recent news after several news outlets claimed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wanted the right-handed batter to feature in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025, if they don’t do well in the three-match ODI series against Australia down under.

However, a video has gone viral where the Nagpur-born Indian batter has been seen in a dashing look to appear in the event in Mumbai. During the event, the batter came across his friends, where he made a hilarious reaction in a funny banter with his friends. That’s the quite general character of the Mumbai batter.

Sharma recently hung up his shoes from the longest format of the game for the Blue Brigade just before the start of the away five-match Test series in England, having already retired from the shortest format after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 that they went on to win in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA).

There should not be any doubt about Rohit Shara’s skills in the ODI format, after he led the side to the Champions Trophy 2025 title, winning the final against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. He was fabulous for the national side with aggressive knocks in setting the platform.

The right-handed batter is the fourth leading run-getter currently for India in the 50-over format. He has overall smashed 11168 runs in 265 innings at an average of nearly 49 and a strike rate of 92.80, with the help of 32 centuries and 58 half-centuries at the best score of 264 runs against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Rohit will get the chance in the home 50-over series against New Zealand and South Africa at the end of the year. Those games are quite important for the veteran to keep him hit and hold his shape for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2027, if he gets to that place.
