Indian cricket fans were shocked when they came to know that Team India star Rohit Sharma went to the hospital late at night. In a recently surfaced video on social media platforms, we can see Rohit in casual attire entering the hospital. Fans were speculating whether he was alright. Reports suggest that the batter went to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. 

Rohit's full focus is on the One Day International format, as he has already retired from T20Is and Test cricket. The opener retired from T20Is just after winning the ICC T20I World Cup, and then, in May 2025, before the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy, he announced his retirement from Test cricket as well, which left him active only for ODIs. Virat Kohli too signed off from T20Is and tests as well, like Sharma. Indian cricket fans are eagerly waiting to see these two icons on the field again. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently arranged a fitness test for Team India cricketers, where Rohit also had to take part. According to media reports, the current ODI skipper did well and passed the fitness test, which was a big relief for his fans, as he's focused currently entirely on the format. The last time both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli played for India was in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy final in Dubai.

Why he went to hospital?

Rohit Sharma's visit to the hospital late at night started to surface on several social media platforms a few hours before September 9, the inaugural date of the Asia Cup 2025, where India will fight to defend their title. India, the champion of the Asia Cup's previous edition, is one of the favorites to win this year's title as well. As this tournament is shaped for the Twenty20 format, Rohit and Virat are not parts of the team. 

But amid the prestigious tournament, the question remains, why did Sharma have to visit the hospital late at night? As of now, there is no official statement either from the board or from the cricketer's side, which left fans only to assume. Although the reason for his visit was not made public, cricket fans wished him well and expressed their support.
