Suryakumar Yadav Responds to Santner’s ‘Silence the Crowd’ Remark

Earlier, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner said his team would try to silence the home crowd during the final. His comment reminded many fans of Pat Cummins’ similar remark before the 2023 ODI World Cup final at the same venue. Santner said his team would focus on playing their game and handling the pressure of a big match.

Responding to the comment, Suryakumar Yadav said such statements are often repeated before major games. "Sab he same line chipka rahe hai. Kuch to naya bolo (Everyone is now saying the same thing. Come up with something new)," Suryakumar Yadav told reporters during the pre-match press conference. The Indian captain added that there will definitely be pressure in a World Cup final, but the team is excited and enjoying the moment as they prepare for the big clash.
