Vaibhav Suryavanshi celebrates 17-ball 50.

It could have been a first-ball duck for the young, upcoming Indian star batter, Vaibhav Suravanshi, who smashed the short ball from Muhammad Farazudddin to Alishan Sharafu, who dropped the catch, perhaps not being able to bear with the speed of the ball during the second clash of the ACC Men's Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 in Doha.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed the second ball of the second over in the deep extra cover region for a boundary before slapping the last ball through the long-on region for a six. In the third over, the left-handed batter clubbed Aayan Khan over the sweep cover for a boundary before getting two successive sixes in the next two balls over the long-on region.

The Bihar batter smashed Jawadullah for three boundaries in the fifth over of the innings in the deep extra cover region before collecting another six of the afternoon in the long-off region. On the third ball of the final powerplay over, the left-handed batter celebrated his half-century in just 17 balls before notching up another four on the very next ball.

Naman Dhir joined Vaibhav from the other end with the powerful knock of 28 runs in 14 balls as the stand crossed 95 runs in just around 32 deliveries. India completed their 100 runs on the board before seven overs, which just shows the power and skill of India’s upcoming generation in the shortest format of the game.

Earlier in the game, Priyansh Arya went back to the dug-out for 10 runs in six balls at a strike rate of 166.67 as he couldn’t complete the ground while going for the singles and ended up an inch short to be adjusted for the run-out dismissal.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan A put 220/4 in their allotted 20 overs to earn the victory by 40 runs against Oman, who finished on 180/9 in their 20 overs. India looked set to cross the 220-run mark. Vaibhav remained unbeaten on 80 runs in just 26 balls.
