Yashasvi Jaiswal celebrates 150 during IND vs WI 2nd Test.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, in such a short span of his international career, has broken multiple records, especially in the longest format of the game. Whether it’s in Australia, the United Kingdom, or at home, the left-handed batter has smashed runs against all the opponents he has faced so far in his career, and that’s great news for the Blue Brigade in this format for the future.

Jaiswal didn’t have a great time against the West Indies during the opening Test of the two-match series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad as he was dismissed against the run of play for 34 runs. They didn’t get the chance to bat in the second innings. In Delhi for the second clash, he was watchful from the start.

At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Jaiswal left several deliveries against the new ball bowling of Anderson Philip and Jayden Seales. While KL Rahul was taking the aggressive route from the other end, he was only putting the bad balls into the fence. But the story changed during the second session.

On the first four balls of the second session against Seales, Jaiswal clubbed three boundaries to celebrate his half-century. By the end of the session, with multiple big shots and boundaries, he completed his seventh red-ball century. Since his debut, it’s the most centuries by any opener in world cricket, with England’s Ben Duckett coming in the second position with four.

In the third session, it was about the balance of aggression and stability from the left-handed batter, as he celebrated his 150. It was his second Test 150+ score on the opening day of the Test, which is only equaled by Virat Kohli when he clubbed 151 in 2016 against England and got 156 against Sri Lanka in 2017.

Jaiswal can think of saving his wicket for the last few overs of the opening day and put a huge score on the second day of the Test match. India had already crossed the 300-run mark with Sai Sudharsan getting 87 and KL Rahul getting 38 runs. Shubman Gill has also got a start with the bat.
