Jasprit Bumrah, the premier pacer, is the best all-format bowler of the modern era across the world. In all three forms of the game, the right-arm pacer has earned success with 219 wickets in 91 red-ball innings at an average of under 20. In 88 ODI innings, he has grabbed 149 wickets at an average of 23.55, besides bagging 89 T20I wickets at 17.74.

The Ahmedabad-born has been the star performer, as every kid wants to imitate the bowler’s action. A few months ago, the video of a Pakistani kid went viral, where he looked to copy the bowling action of the Indian pacer. On August 11, another video flew around social media where an Indian kid had imitated the bowling action of Bumrah in the backyard.

It's hard to paint a picture regarding the bowler’s bowling style, as his hands come at a certain angle; besides, his back is bent a bit more than the other pacers. Moreover, his hands get stretched a few meters more towards the batter than the other bowlers, which helps him in generating extra pace with the ball.

Recently, the veteran pacer featured in three Test matches of the five-match series in England, where he ended up with 14 wickets in five innings, including two five-wicket hauls at Leeds and Lord’s. However, he missed the fifth and final game of the series, as Gautam Gambhir, the Indian head coach, promised to play the bowler in three Tests of the seven-week trip.

That decision sparked criticism as many former players reckoned that Bumrah could have easily taken a break from the 2025 season of the IPL for the Mumbai Indians to take ample rest for the England series, which would have managed his workload.

There are doubts about whether the 31-year-old would be available for selection during the Asia Cup 2025. Few reports have claimed that the selectors have been planning to carry him to Australia for the white-ball series in November before bringing him back in the squad for the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.
