Australia Champions Innings

Australia Champions had a bad day with the bat, as they were sent back to the pavilion after scoring only 74 runs in 11.5 overs. Ben Dunk played some attacking shots in the beginning and scored 26 runs from 14 balls, but no other batsman could keep the scoreboard ticking with him. Callum Ferguson (10) and Shaun Marsh (7) wasted their energy fighting against a strong Pakistan bowling attack. Saeed Ajmal was the most notable in the team, as he took a magical spell of 6/16 in 3.5 overs, totally confusing the Aussies. Imad Wasim (2/11) and Sohail Tanvir (1/8) were the perfect fit for this well-oiled bowling machine.

Pakistan Champions Innings

Pakistan Champions completed a mere 75 runs target in 7.5 overs without losing a wicket, coming with a purpose and confidence. Sharjeel Khan was 32* from 23 balls, balling from the very start and thus setting the pace. Sohaib Maqsood kept the shafts in hand, scoring an unbeaten 28 off 26 balls. Australia’s bowling was off course and undisciplined; they gave 14 extras, including 11 wides in a single over from John Hastings. Pakistan ran flawlessly to win by 10 wickets, a victory that took them to the top of the WCL 2025 points table.
