Batting first, they put up a huge total of 241/6 in 20 overs thanks to AB de Villiers's explosive innings of 123 runs off 46 balls. He was well supported by JJ Smuts, who scored a solid 85 off 53 deliveries, building a 200+ partnership. Australia’s bowlers struggled to contain the carnage, with Peter Siddle (3/38) the only standout. Brett Lee and Daniel Christian picked up one wicket each but went for plenty.
