In his short career across the three formats of the game, India’s left-handed opening batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has shared the dressing room with two stars of the game, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. With the latter, he has opened the batting, while when it comes to Kohli, Jaiswal has celebrated several fine partnerships with the Delhi-born.

Jaiswal revealed the star batter’s funny side and how the former captain can keep everyone laughing in a light environment. The young left-handed batter highlighted that Virat Kohli had been sharp when it came to observing someone making a joke and claimed that he would make one laugh with funny remarks.

“Paaji is amazing, really strong. I’ve batted with him many times. He’s so much fun, and he’s really funny too. If you spend time with him, you’ll just keep laughing; it’s a different level altogether. If he tells you something about someone, he’ll explain it in full detail — it’s incredible.” Jaiswal expressed during a recent interaction on Mashable India.

Overall, Jaiswal has smashed 2209 runs in 46 innings of the longest format at an average of 50.20 and a strike rate of 66.21 with the help of 12 half-centuries and six centuries at the best score of 2209 runs. In T20s, he has cracked 3537 runs at a strike rate of 151.67, scoring 23 fifties and three centuries.

“Virat Kohli is so sharp. Like, if you ask me to explain something in a funny way, I might try, but it won’t come out funny. But if he says it, then 100 percent you’ll end up laughing for sure.” Jaiswal addressed during the same interaction. With Kohli, he had partnerships in 10 innings to put 361 runs during the time.

Kohli has already retired from the longest and shortest formats of the game and will now focus only on the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. He has already started preparation for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia down under, as he will return to action after five months.
