Zimbabwe Fans Ask for Support

“I urge local businessmen to support our team, just like they do for football. Let us ferry prominent supporters to the games and create an electrifying environment for our boys,” Paul Mungofa said. He is the leader of the fan group Brass Band, and his words were reported by NewsDay.

He also said, “Our Brass Band and Castle Corner supporters can make a huge difference. Let us make some noise and bring it home. We owe it to our ancestors, who have carried the colours of our national team jerseys, to make a mark.”

Fans Have Been Paying Their Own Expenses

Until now, Zimbabwe supporters have paid for their own travel and match tickets. They have continued to support the team during many difficult years for the country and its cricket.

“We have been to every game, every venue. We have celebrated with the team, and we have cried with them. They are like family now,” said Malvin Kwaramba, the chief of fan representatives.

The supporters hope they can now receive help so they can continue to cheer for their team in the next stage of the tournament.
