4. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is mainly known for his aggressive nature, but is considered a team man too. As a captain, he has been very supportive of his team members whenever he is in charge of the team. Virat took over RCB captaincy in 2013, where he did just not captain the team but shaded a huge amount of runs. He is the leading run-scorer in IPL. Unfortunately, Virat doesn't hold any IPL trophy, but he led off his team beautifully with his aggressive approach. Virat in 2016, led his team to the final but lost to SRH. But it is not hidden that Virat holds the supremacy in leading a team.

3. Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir, a former Indian opener, is also an example of sharp aggression who has led team India and his franchise, Kolkata Knight Rider,s superbly. In the initial stage of his career, Gautam played for the Delhi Daredevil,s then he was bought by Kolkata and not just he was bought. The role of captaincy was also provided to him, which he started in 2011. Gambhir just changed the course of the team completely with his aggressive nature on the field.
The very next year, Gambhir led his team to their first IPL trophy in Chennai. Defeating the title winners, CSK, on their home ground. Kolkata won that match by chasing 190 with 5 wickets remaining. The next year, the team came to the playoffs but didn't get the desired result. But in 2014, Gambhir showed once again that winning the 2012 title was not a fluke. He regained the title by beating Kings XI Punjab, who were in red-hot form that season.

2. Rohit Sharma

The current Indian captain is way too different from other captains who are just calm in nature. His recent triumph of winning the World T20 World Cup can be a great example of what kind of captain he has been in IPL. Rohit started his IPL career with the Deccan Chargers where he was with the team as a batsman later on the team went on to win their maiden IPL trophy which was his first too.
Rohit has a total of six IPL trophies in his cabinet. Later Rohit Sharma was bought by Mumbai in 2011. Rohit became captain of the team in 2013 when Ricky stepped down, In his inaugural captaincy tenure itself he won the maiden IPL trophy for Mumbai Indians. From there world came to know who Rohit Sharma is, Rohit has always led, his team with a calm nature with no hurry. In 2015 Rohit led his team to their second title against Chennai Super Kings who were playing their sixth final. Then he went on to conquer the 2017 IPL title by defeating Pune Super Giants. In 2019 once again the clash of titans happened between Csk and Mi, Where Rohit Mi had the upper hand winning the close encounter.

1. MS Dhoni

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is considered a pioneer of Indian captaincy. He is the one who made us believe you can come out of any situation when you are fully focused on it. Ms Dhoni started his Indian captaincy career in 2007 and his inaugural IPL captaincy in 2008. He led team India to its maiden T20 World Cup victory, after that Ms Dhoni was all over to it. Winning the 50-over World Cup to winning the Champions Trophy. What trophy doesn't have?
Dhoni started his IPL career with Chennai Super Kings, and he is considered the core of the team. He led the team to the playoffs beautifully, but couldn't go above the line. MS and CSK achieved their first title in 2010 by beating the Mumbai Indians. In 2011, he claimed his second title by beating RCB.
Dhoni became the first captain in IPL history to win back-to-back IPL trophies. It would have been a hatrick but Gautam Gambhir's men were in a determination to break the streak, which they did. After that, it seemed like a drought for the Chennai Super Kings as they reached many finals but couldn't go over the line. Ms tactical captaincy and glove work behind the stumps are just the epitome of his saga. After a big gap, Ms Dhoni claimed his third title in 2018, beating Hyderabad a special thanks to Shane Watson for his brilliant centur,y he made the game just one-sided. Later on, Ms repeated his magic in 2021, where he claimed his fourth title by beating KKR, who once cost them the 2014 final. Dhoni declared the 2023 season as his last tenure as captain of CSK. He won graciously by beating the champions Gujrat Titans, where Jadeja's heroics helped CSK and Dhoni to attain their fifth title. Dhoni has always been admired for his calm nature and has a nickname of Mr Cool.
