The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 is going on, and like any big tournament, there have been many injuries. Some players were ruled out before the tournament started, while others got injured during matches. Meanwhile, Muhammad Zohaib Khan from the United Arab Emirates was sent home by the Emirates Cricket Board for a very unusual reason.

Paul Stirling is the only captain who got injured. The Ireland player pulled his hamstring in the first match against Australia. India's Harshit Rana hurt his knee during the warm-up match against South Africa. He was replaced by the fast bowler Mohammed Siraj.

Here is the list of injured players and their replacements in 2026.

Meanwhile, former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir suggested a simple plan that could help Pakistan get rid of Indian opener Abhishek Sharma in their upcoming T20 World Cup match at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, February 15.

Amir called Sharma a “slogger” and said his very aggressive style makes him likely to fail often. He said Pakistan should keep a deep cover field and bowl into Sharma’s body to give him less room. He also suggested bowling slower balls as a smart tactic.

Bowling Strategy Against Sharma

“Abhishek Sharma is a slogger. He wants to hit every ball. If he connects, he connects — otherwise, the chances of failure are high. He bats in eight innings and scores well in only one. In the others, he gets 10, 15, 20, or even 0. He just stands and slogs. He is not technically sound. That is my honest opinion,” Amir said on a Pakistani TV show.

“Abhishek plays high-risk cricket. Keep a deep cover and bowl into his body to trap him. The other thing is slower deliveries,” he added.
