List of Youngest Indians to win ICC Trophy

India became the first team to win the T20 World Cup at home, having beaten New Zealand by a massive margin of 96 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, along with getting the record of earning the title for the successive season, earning the trophy in the 2024 season with the victory over South Africa in Barbados. 

India, under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, has overtaken West Indies and England to win the most titles of the T20 World Cups as they got the title in 2007, 2024, and 2026.

A look at the list of youngest Indians to win ICC trophy-

1.Rohit Sharma (20Y 147D)

The former captain of the Indian side, Rohit Sharma, was part of the T20 World Cup 2007 when he played a key role in the batting department for the MS Dhoni-led side. He was part of three innings in the event and smashed 88 runs at a strike rate of 144.26 with the help of one fifty. Later, he won the 2024 T20 World Cup before retiring from the shortest format.

2. RP Singh (21Y 292D)

The left-arm pacer of the Indian side, RP Singh, at an age of 21 years and 292 days, got the T20 WC 2007, when he finished with 12 wickets to be the joint second-leading wicket-taker in the event. He picked up those wickets in six innings at an average of 12.66 and an economy rate of 6.33.

3. Robin Uthappa (21Y 317D)

The wicket-keeper batter of the Indian side, Robin Uthappa, has also gone through a fine competition in the T20 WC 2007 with the help of 113 runs in six innings at an average of under 19 and a strike rate of 113, scoring one half-century and winning the title at an age of 21 years and 317 days.

4. Virat Kohli (22y148D)

Virat Kohli was incredibly young when he won the ODI World Cup 2011 at home at the age of only 22 years and 148 days. The right-handed batter finished the tournament with 282 runs in nine innings at an average of 35.25 and a strike rate of more than 80, thanks to one fifty and one century.

5. Irfan Pathan (22Y 332D)

The left-arm pace all-rounder, Irfan Pathan, won the T20 WC 2007 at 22 years and 332 days as he picked up 10 wickets in six innings of the competition at an average of 14.90 and an economy rate of 6.77. He was excellent with the new ball inside the powerplay. 

6. Tilak Varma (23Y 120D)

The left-handed middle order batter of the Indian side, Tilak Varma, didn’t make a great start to the T20 WC 2026 but ended up collecting 207 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 154.47, holding a strong average of nearly 30 as he won the title at an age of only 23 years and 120 days.

7. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (23Y 138D)

The Indian pacer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, at an age of 23 years and 138 days won the Champions Trophy 2013 as he picked up six wickets in just five innings at an average of 22.83 and an extra-ordinary economy rate of under four.

8. Kris Srikkanth (23Y 186D)

Kris Srikkanth, at the age of 22 years and 186 days, won the ODI World Cup 1983 for the very first time. The opening batter contributed 156 runs in eight innings at an average of under 20 and a strike rate of 61.90 with the best score of 39 runs.

9. Joginder Sharma (23Y 336D)

Joginder Sharma was also part of the T20 WC 2007 winning campaign at an age of 23 years and 336 days and bagged four wickets in as many innings during the event at an average of 34.50. He picked up the last wicket of Misbah-ul-Haq to get the title, becoming a notable player of the competition.
