Shubman Gill, who is playing for India in the Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE, had a great Test tour of England. After Rohit Sharma retired from Tests, the 26-year-old was named captain. He scored 754 runs in 10 innings at an average of 75.40, including four centuries. With this excellent performance, he also proved the critics wrong.

Gill started the series with a brilliant 147 in the first Test at Leeds. He then scored 269 in Birmingham and 261 in the second innings of the same Test. In the fourth Test at Manchester, the right-handed batter made 103 as India drew the match.

Gill has played 37 Test matches so far. Before India’s next red-ball series against West Indies, we compare his stats with head coach Gautam Gambhir at the same stage.
