Stats highlights from India's victories over Pakistan and UAE in Asia Cup 2025.

India has started their campaign in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 with two strong victories against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The BCCI shared videos of their intense practice sessions, leading up to the opening game against the Muhammed Waseem-led side on September 10.

A simple match prediction for the clash stated that the Suryakumar Yadav-led side would be too strong for the associate nation. And it exactly happened. Jasprit Bumrah became India’s third leading wicket-taker in the Men’s T20 Asia Cup with seven wickets. Kuldeep Yadav registered the second-best bowling figure of 4/7 for the Blue Brigade to stay behind Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s 5/4 against Afghanistan in 2022.

Thanks to Kuldeep Yadav's four wickets, UAE were bundled out for the lowest T20I score of 57 runs against India. They got all out in just 13.1 overs, which is the fourth-least balls for an all-out score by a team against India in T20Is. They also recorded the second-lowest score (57) in the T20 Asia Cup history after Hong Kong’s 38 against Pakistan in 2022. India completed the chase with 93 balls to spare, which is their biggest win in terms of balls remaining.

The focus later shifted to the high-voltage clash of the event against Pakistan at the same ground. There were protests by the fans on social media to boycott the encounter due to the Pahalgam terror attack, where several innocent people lost their lives. During the game, the current T20 World Champions showed the difference between the skills of the two sides.

Kuldeep Yadav, who picked successive four-wicket hauls in the tournament, became India’s fourth leading wicket-taker (07) in the Men’s T20 Asia Cup. Bumrah also overtook Bhuvneshwar (90) to become India’s fourth leading T20I wicket-taker with 92 wickets. For the first time in T20Is, the Gujarat-born was drilled for a six against Pakistan as their opposition’s opener, Sahibzada Farhan, achieved the feat.

Pakistan, due to the fine 33* runs from Shaheen Shah Afridi, ended with the third lowest score batting first against India in their history of T20I cricket. Suryakumar, in reply, got his highest individual score of unbeaten 47 runs against the Salman Ali Agha-led side in his T20I career.
