1. Kyle Mills (New Zealand)- 28 Wickets

Former New Zealand quickie Kyle Mills is the bowler with the highest number of wickets across all the ICC Champions Trophy history, with 28 wickets in 17 matches. He contributed to his team's success by producing game-changing plays and forming frightening combinations at the crease.

During his ICC Champions Trophy spell from 2002 to 2013, he had a remarkable bowling average of 17.25, with a best performance 4/30 against England in 2013. His finest performance was in the 2006 Champions Trophy, where he took ten wickets. He also took three wickets in 2002, nine in 2009, and six in his last 2013 edition.


2. Lasith Malinga (Sri Lanka)- 25 Wickets

Lasith Malinga, one of the Pacers' veterans, has evolved into one of the top fast bowlers of the previous two decades. He is known for his distinctive motion and ability to fizz off swift Yorkers. As his unique and eccentric bowling motion and ability to execute immaculate yorkers imply, he took 25 wickets in 16 matches, giving him the second-highest wicket-taker in ICC Champions Trophy history.

He collected four wickets in 2009, seven in 2013, and three in 2017, bringing his total to 25. But, in the end, Malinga's most successful season was his debut in 2006, when he got 11 wickets in 6 matches with an excellent average of 19.09. 


3. Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka)- 24 Wickets

Muttiah Muralitharan, the renowned Sri Lankan spinner with the most wickets in international cricket, played 17 matches and took 24 wickets, ranking among the top three bowlers. Surprisingly, only one spinner makes the list of the best bowlers in Champions Trophy history, while the others are speed bowlers, demonstrating his unmatched abilities as a spinner.

He also had the best economy rate in tournament history, scoring 3.6 runs per over. His breakout Champions Trophy performance came in 2022 when he took 12 wickets in three matches at an average of 7 and an economy of 2.78. 


4. Brett Lee (Australia)- 22 Wickets

Brett Lee, one of the quickest bowlers ever, took part in four editions of this iconic ICC competition. He played a pivotal part in Australia's 2006 and 2009 title campaigns. It's no wonder he was a childhood cricketing idol for many fans, and they've all tried to imitate his bowling style at some point in their lives.

At the Champions Trophy, the Australian paceman's quickness and tenacity were crucial to his team's success. He picked up 22 wickets, putting him in the top five. His best bowling stats in the tournament 3/38 were against New Zealand in 2002 at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.


5. Glenn McGrath (Australia)- 21 Wickets

Glenn McGrath, the former Australian speedster great, is the fifth highest wicket-taking bowler in Champions Trophy history, having taken 21 wickets in only 12 matches. McGrath also has the record for bowling the second-most maiden overs (13) in the Champions Trophy.

Glenn McGrath is the only bowler among the top five wicket-takers to have collected a wicket haul. Furthermore, the experienced Australian speedster was the leading wicket-taker for Australia in their first Champions Trophy triumphing campaign in 2006. Even in the 2002 edition, he was the second-highest wicket-taker with eight scalps.
