PAK vs ENG Match Prediction- Who Will Win the Match Between Pakistan and England, 1st T20I

England are finally in Pakistan. After a called off series last year, they are finally making the trip. While this is the first time England are playing in Pakistan after a while, playing in Pakistan is not new to the English Cricketers. Quite a few of them including the likes of Alex Hales and Dawid Malan are regulars in the Pakistan Super League.

England are coming into this series with a lot of changes. Jonny Bairstow, after a wonderful season is out. Jason Roy is dropped, Livingston is injured and Ben Stokes is rested, leaving England without heir core members. Jos Buttler’s availability is a doubt with injury while the likes of Mark Wood and Sam Curran are transitioning back into the side. The biggest news though is the return of Alex Hales. He is back in the English side after three years and will be hoping to make up for the lost time.

Pakistan are coming in with some questions of their own. Their sides intent is in question. Both Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are easily among the best in the country, but with both starting slow, Pakistan’s run-rate upfront seems a little uncompetitive. The middle-order is another concern as there is not much stability in the line-up there, with players moving around.

PAK vs ENG Key Players

Sam Curran

With Sam Curran easing his way back from injury, he will be thrust with more responsibility on him. Since Ben Stokes is rested, Sam Curran will have to step up and fill his boots with bat and ball. He may get chances to bat higher up the order this series, and he already takes the new-ball for England. A good series here will seal his position in the eleven for the upcoming World Cup.

Babar Azam

Babar Azam had a very silent Asia Cup and is now being called out for his strike-rate. On his day, Babar Azam is one of the most silent and steady accelerators. He phases his innings better than most, which takes out the strike-rate issue. Runs though have not been coming and he will want to find a way to score big in this series as he is very important to Pakistan’s fortunes for the World Cup.

PAK vs ENG Match Tips

England are having a handful of players comeback to the side after recovering from injuries. There will be some rustiness, while this is also their first time in Pakistan after a long time. Pakistan too have middle-order issues and strike-rate issues at the top. Their bowling though remains very consistent and that should put them ahead of England in the series opener.
