Preview

West Indies Vs England: After two dull draw England’s quest to conquer the Caribbean continues and reaches its final opportunity. They have done a lot right after a dismal Ashes, and will be pleased despite the result. Dan Lawrence has been a find for them, Zak Crawley is batting well and Leach is doing an incredible job with his bowling.

The West Indies have been competitive through the series and have fought hard. In the first Test it was Bonner and the second it was Brathwaite, as both played marathon knocks when the West Indies had a challenging situation ahead of them.

While Saqib Mahmood and Fisher did a decent job, the pace attack remains a concern for England. They are still struggling to find penetrable options with their bowling. The West Indies though has found decent ways to get wickets on the flat surfaces, but the surface is still a little too flat for their liking. Nevertheless, England will be happy with how the youngsters are going and with them along with the likes of Ben Stokes, Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow, England has a set of pillars to look forward too.

Key Players

Kraigg Brathwaite

Kraigg Brathwaite batted with immense character as West Indies had a huge total ahead of them. He stayed at the crease for nearly eleven hours, faced and incredible number of deliveries, and hung around strongly. With a fresh game ahead of him, the time in the middle may help Brathwaite bat with more intent in a bid to force a result in the upcoming game.

Jack Leach

Four years after making his Test debut, Jack Leach finally got his turn as a responsible spinner. He bowled a marathon spell in the second Test, going through 94 overs, and controlled the innings nicely. He is still not the type of bowler who can run through a line-up, but the previous Test has shown his potential to grow into a containing bowler and if he remains consistent he may well get into the habit of running through line-ups as games go on.

West Indies Vs England Match Tips

Both teams have fought tooth and nail in the first two Tests and are evenly matched. With England struggling a little with the ball, they have a slight disadvantage coming into the next game. With a faster surface, their batting line-up may also be tested, and that could give West Indies a significant advantage in this West Indies Vs England encounter.
