A glorious shot from Andre Fletcher to smack Jayden Seales for a huge six during the Falcons vs Patriots CPL 2025 match. The experienced opener has been in phenomenal touch from the beginning of the tournament.

The opener started his CPL 2025 campaign with a hundred and had the aim to continue the form in the following match as well. Chasing a small target of 122 runs, Fletcher decided to play his natural hard-hitting game to finish the match as early as possible. The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the match easily against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons with 30 balls remaining and 6 wickets in hand.

The 37-year-old had the intention to go berserk but could not utilize his plans properly. The right-handed batter scored only 19 off 26, hitting only one six and no boundary. The only over-boundary he hit was against Jayden Seales. The West Indian fast bowler delivered a good-length delivery, angled towards the leg stump. Assuming the line of the delivery was right, Fletcher, using his footwork, went down the track to hoist it for a six with a straight bat.

Allround display, dominating win 

Patriots got the dominating win mostly because of their bowling department. Waqar Salamkheil, man of the match, took 4 wickets in his 4-over spell, against 22 runs only. While batting in the second innings, Alick Athanaze did not allow Falcons' bowlers to cause any trouble.

Alick played a controlled and match-winning 28-ball, 37-run innings with three boundaries and a couple of sixes. Maintaining a strike over 8, the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots hit their winning runs in the 15 overs of the second innings. 

In Match 30 of the 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) season, the Los Angeles Knight Riders pulled off a thrilling 11-run win (DLS method) over the high-flying San Francisco Unicorns at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill. After batting first, the Knight Riders showcased their most explosive batting performance of the season, with a monstrous total that put pressure on the Unicorns from the outset. Despite a valiant chase, rain interruptions meant the target was adjusted, and the Unicorns fell short in a high-scoring thriller. Despite the loss, MI New York secured the fourth and final playoff spot, edging out Seattle Orcas on Net Run Rate as both teams finished on 6 points.

Los Angeles Knight Riders Innings

Batting first, Los Angeles Knight Riders smashed 243/3 in 19 overs. Andre Fletcher led the charge with a magnificent 118 off 58 balls, playing one of the best knocks of the season. He was well supported by Alex Hales, who blasted 58 in just 26 balls, and Sherfane Rutherford, who contributed with a fast-paced 49 off 28 balls. Despite the onslaught, the San Francisco bowlers took a few wickets, with Karima Gore (1/22 in 2 overs), Hassan Khan (1/43 in 4), and Xavier Bartlett (1/44 in 4) taking a wicket each.

San Francisco Unicorns Innings

Chasing a mammoth target under DLS adjustments, the Unicorns responded with intent but were bowled out for 233 in 18.5 overs. Sanjay Krishnamurthy fought valiantly with a brilliant 92 off 40 balls, keeping his side in the game. Hammad Azam chipped in with 38 (27), while Hassan Khan added 35 off 17. However, the required rate and pressure from the Knight Riders’ bowlers proved too much. Karthik Gattepalli was the pick of the bowlers with 3/31 in 4 overs, while Jason Holder (2/28) and Shadley van Schalkwyk (2/44 in 2.5) played key roles in sealing the win.
