Former England cricket captain Andrew Strauss has remarried in a quiet and deeply personal ceremony held in South Africa. The 48-year-old tied the knot with Antonia Linnaeus-Peat, 30, at a vineyard in Franschhoek. The wedding marks a meaningful new phase in Strauss’s life, seven years after the passing of his first wife, Ruth.

The ceremony was kept small and intimate, attended only by close family. Strauss has kept an extremely low profile since his loss in 2018 and chose to do the announcement of this news in soft tones via social media rather than through public notice. The couple celebrated away from the spotlight, focusing on family and togetherness.

Strauss also shared a deeply emotional message alongside the pictures. He wrote, “Celebrating the most special day in our favourite part of the world. Thank you for loving me and the boys the way you do and for showing us true happiness – I am so lucky to have found you. Here’s to a lifetime of beautiful memories, my girl.” The post reflected gratitude, love, and a sense of healing for the former cricketer and his family.

A New Beginning After Years of Personal Loss

Strauss and Linnaeus-Peat have been together for around two years and have occasionally appeared in public during that time. She grew up in Hong Kong, studied in Wiltshire, and previously worked in public relations. She now runs her own business, Linnaeus Fine Art Advisory Limited, focusing on fine art consultancy.

Strauss’s first wife, Ruth, died in 2018 at the age of 46 after battling a rare form of lung cancer. The couple were married for 15 years and had two sons. Following her death, Strauss founded the Ruth Strauss Foundation, which supports families dealing with the loss of a parent and funds cancer research.

His work through the foundation earned him widespread respect beyond cricket and led to him receiving a knighthood in 2019. The small wedding also explains Strauss’s absence from England’s current Ashes tour of Australia. Born in South Africa but raised in England, Strauss famously captained England to an Ashes series win in Australia, making this personal return to the country especially meaningful.
