Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma Visit Vrindavan After Son’s Birthday

The visit came just after their son Akaay’s birthday on February 15. This made the visit very special for the family.

This is not the first time Virat and Anushka have gone to Vrindavan for spiritual guidance. They have visited the Premanand Maharaj Ashram several times in the past to seek blessings. During earlier visits, the spiritual leader talked about life’s purpose and the journey of devotion guided by a guru.

Over the past few years, the couple has shown a strong interest in spirituality. In 2023, they visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple and the Neem Karoli Baba Ashram, among other religious places.

After the opener Sophie Devine (13) was dismissed cheaply in the third over, her opening partner Beth Mooney and Anushka Sharma had a 54-run partnership for the second wicket. Anushka scored 39 off 25 balls with eight fours. 

After the fall of the second wicket, Gujarat Giants were losing wickets at regular intervals. When Mooney was out in the 17th over, she scored 58 off 46 balls with seven fours. In that period, only Georgia Wareham (11) was the other batter to reach a double-digit score. 

Lately, Tanuja Kanwar had a useful cameo of 21 in just 11 balls with three fours and one six, including two fours and a six in the last over, as Giants managed to score 170+ total. Among Delhi bowlers, Shree Charani got four wickets, as she had the bowling figures of 4-0-31-4.

Niki Prasad and Sneh Rana dramatically guided Delhi Capitals to the chase, as they had a 70-run partnership for the seventh wicket. In the final over, Capitals needed nine runs to win with four wickets in hand, while Sophie Devine took the final over responsibility with the ball. 

After conceding four runs in the first three balls, including a wide, Devine dismissed Sneh (29) and Niki (47) in the fourth and last balls of that over, while scoring only a single on the fifth ball. 

Sophie Devine won the Player of the Match award after finishing with the bowling figures of 4-0-37-4. Also, Rajeshwari Gayakwad got three wickets, as she had the bowling figures of 4-0-20-3.

Virat Kohli returned to India a few days ago and visited Mumbai, besides making a trip to Delhi, perhaps spending a couple of days at home. It has been a long time since he has stayed long in this country despite not being part of any competitive cricket. The right-handed batter took his retirement from the longest and shortest formats of the game in June this year. 

Virat Kohli went to Australia for the three-match ODI series before heading home for a couple of weeks’ rest when the Indian side was taking part in the five-match T20I series down under. A day after the recent India vs South Africa ODI match in Vizag, where India emerged as the winner, Virat Kohli visited the Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Simhachalam.
