Australia Champions won their first match of the 2025 World Champions League (WCL) by a comprehensive 8-wicket margin against West Indies Champions in Match 7 at the County Ground, Northampton. Having chosen to bowl first, the Aussies restricted the West Indies to 142/8, with 3/28 from Peter Siddle. Nathan Coulter-Nile (2/21) and Brett Lee (1/20) also gave great support as no Windies batter reached 30.

Australia Champions chased down the target in 9.3 overs, an explosive knock of 81 in 27 balls by Chris Lynn and a quick 30 in 9 by Ben Dunk.
Their aggressive play left Windies bowlers with no answer, as the chase was achieved with 63 balls remaining.

This convincing victory helped Australia move to second position on the points table with 3 points and an enormous Net Run Rate (NRR) of +7.953. West Indies fell to fourth place with 2 points from 3 matches and an NRR of -2.418.

In Match 7 of the 2025 World Champions League, Australia Champions provided a clinical show to thrash the West Indies Champions by 8 wickets at County Ground, Northampton. Australia won the toss and chose to bowl first, and their choice was highly rewarding as they held the Windies to a small total before pursuing it down in only 9.3 overs, driven by a blazing innings from Chris Lynn.

West Indies Champions managed to post 142/8 in their 20 overs, despite a good beginning. Lendl Simmons compiled a composed 29 of 28 balls, Dwayne Bravo (26 of 17) and Dwayne Smith (22 of 20) making small but useful contributions. Australian bowlers, however, kept straight lines, and Peter Siddle stood out with a bowling performance of 3/28 in his four overs. Nathan Coulter-Nile also bowled in control, taking 2/21, as captain Brett Lee put pressure on with a tight spell of 1/20 from three overs.

In response, the Australia Champions ran down the target in style, scoring 143/2 off 9.3 overs. Chris Lynn was destructive, scoring 81 runs from only 27 deliveries, smashing boundaries with ease. He was supported well by Ben Dunk, who scored 30 from 9 deliveries, as D'Arcy Short remained unbeaten on 18 from 12. West Indies bowlers struggled despite experimenting with different combinations, as Ashley Nurse and Nikita Miller both gave away 48 runs for their spells and each picked up a wicket. Dave Mohammed bowled only 3 deliveries without luck.
