The men’s matches will start the same day with a thrilling opening game between Malda Sobisco Smashers and Murshidabad Kings. The women’s matches will begin on June 12 at the Jadavpur University campus in Salt Lake, showing the league's effort to support women’s cricket in Bengal.

A total of 8 franchise teams will play in this year’s tournament. These teams include both young talents from Bengal and experienced cricketers. Last year, Sobisco Smashers Malda and the Murshidabad Kings were joint champions. That exciting final is still fresh in fans’ minds. The inaugural edition of the Bengal Pro T20 League will feature eight teams competing in both men’s and women’s categories. These teams represent cities and districts across West Bengal, including Kolkata, Howrah, Diamond Harbour, Medinipur, Siliguri, Murshidabad, Rarh, and Malda.
