The Australia Champions will be up against the Pakistan Champions in the 14th game as both teams look to build momentum ahead of the semis. The Australians suffered a massive loss against South Africa Champions in the last game and must find their form back. Pakistan will be confident after their big win against the West Indies Champions.

Australia Champions bowled poorly in the last game and allowed the South African batters to take the game away from them. The bowling attack has looked weak this season, and it puts the team under pressure.

AB de Villiers played a magical knock as South Africa Champions defeated Australia Champions by a big margin of 95 runs in the World Championship of Legends 2025 at Headingley. His brilliant hundred, along with top bowling from Aaron Phangiso and Imran Tahir, made it an unforgettable match for South Africa.

After winning the toss, South Africa chose to bat first. De Villiers and JJ Smuts gave the team a flying start with a huge 187-run partnership for the first wicket. De Villiers was unstoppable, scoring 123 runs off just 46 balls with 15 fours and 8 sixes.
He reached his fifty in only 20 balls and hit 22 runs in one over from D’Arcy Short to get to his second straight WCL century. Smuts also batted well, scoring 85 runs from 53 balls. The pair helped South Africa reach 241/6 in 20 overs.

Australia had a mountain to climb, and things went wrong from the very first ball. Imran Tahir removed Chris Lynn, and the wickets kept falling. Phangiso picked up 4 wickets for 22 runs, while Tahir took 3 for 20. Australia were 67/8 by the 10th over.

Ben Cutting tried to fight back with an unbeaten 59, and he added 79 runs with Peter Siddle, but the damage had already been done. Australia were all out for 146 in 16.4 overs, handing South Africa a massive win and making a big statement in the tournament.

It was absolute carnage in Northampton as Australia Champions made light work of a modest 143-run target, chasing it down in just 9.3 overs to beat West Indies Champions by 8 wickets in the World Championship of Legends 2025.

Batting first, West Indies never really got going.
Dwayne Smith scored 22 runs, Chris Gayle scored 21 runs, and Lendl Simmons 29 runs all got decent starts but couldn’t convert them into big scores. Their middle order struggled, and they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Dwayne Bravo tried to fight back with a quick 26 off 17 balls, but Australia’s bowling attack kept things tight. Peter Siddle was the pick of the bowlers, grabbing 3 wickets, while Coulter-Nile took 2. West Indies finished with 142/8 in 20 overs, which seemed just about competitive until Chris Lynn walked out to bat.

The Aussie opener went berserk, smashing the ball to all parts of the ground.
He blasted 81 runs from only 27 balls, including 6 fours and 8 huge sixes. He completely destroyed the Windies bowling attack. Shaun Marsh and Chris Lynn gave Australia a fiery start, and even after Lynn got out, Ben Dunk came in and finished things off in style with a stunning 30 off 9 balls.

Australia ended on 143/2 in just 9.3 overs, winning the match with a 63 balls to spare. It was a one-sided affair that showed just how dangerous the Aussie Legends can be when their batters get going. West Indies will have to go back to the drawing board after this heavy defeat, while Australia will be full of confidence moving forward in the tournament.

In Match 7 of the 2025 World Champions League, Australia Champions provided a clinical show to thrash the West Indies Champions by 8 wickets at County Ground, Northampton. Australia won the toss and chose to bowl first, and their choice was highly rewarding as they held the Windies to a small total before pursuing it down in only 9.3 overs, driven by a blazing innings from Chris Lynn.

West Indies Champions Innings

West Indies Champions managed to post 142/8 in their 20 overs, despite a good beginning. Lendl Simmons compiled a composed 29 of 28 balls, Dwayne Bravo (26 of 17) and Dwayne Smith (22 of 20) making small but useful contributions. Australian bowlers, however, kept straight lines, and Peter Siddle stood out with a bowling performance of 3/28 in his four overs. Nathan Coulter-Nile also bowled in control, taking 2/21, as captain Brett Lee put pressure on with a tight spell of 1/20 from three overs.

Australia Champions Innings

In response, the Australia Champions ran down the target in style, scoring 143/2 off 9.3 overs. Chris Lynn was destructive, scoring 81 runs from only 27 deliveries, smashing boundaries with ease. He was supported well by Ben Dunk, who scored 30 from 9 deliveries, as D'Arcy Short remained unbeaten on 18 from 12. West Indies bowlers struggled despite experimenting with different combinations, as Ashley Nurse and Nikita Miller both gave away 48 runs for their spells and each picked up a wicket. Dave Mohammed bowled only 3 deliveries without luck.

<![CDATA[IPL Stars Who Failed in International Cricket:Players Who Couldn't Replicate Their Success]]> https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/ipl-stars-who-failed-in-international-cricket-players-who-couldn-t-replicate-their-success/ https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/ipl-stars-who-failed-in-international-cricket-players-who-couldn-t-replicate-their-success/ Thu, 20 Mar 2025 10:56:05 GMT

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is among the largest T20 leagues in the globe. Several cricketers have risen to prominence after doing well in the IPL. But a few of them were not able to replicate their success in international cricket. Below are five such players who rose to fame in the IPL but did not do well at the international level.

1. Saurabh Tiwary (India)
Saurabh Tiwary was a left-handed aggressive batsman who played for Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2010.
He made 419 runs in that season and was awarded Emerging Player of the Year. A lot of people compared him to MS Dhoni due to his hairstyle and hard-hitting batting.

But, his career outside India proved to be brief.
He only played three ODIs for India in 2010 and was not given another chance. His domestic career also slowed down, and he disappeared from the scene.

2. Paul Valthaty (India)
Paul Valthaty was the sensation of IPL 2011 when he was playing for Punjab Kings (PBKS).
He played a marvelous 120 off 63 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), one of the finest innings in the history of IPL. He made 463 runs during that season and impressed everyone.

Unfortunately, his performance declined in the following seasons, and he was out of the IPL soon.
He never played for the Indian national team and had a brief cricket career.

3. Manvinder Bisla (India)
Manvinder Bisla was a hero for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 2012 IPL final. He scored a match-winning 89 runs off 48 balls to lead KKR to their first IPL title.
He was admired for his fearless batting.

He could not get into the Indian team despite his success in the IPL. His domestic cricket performance was not up to the mark, and he disappeared from top-level cricket later on.

4.
Chris Lynn (Australia)
Chris Lynn was perhaps the most hazardous batsman of the IPL. Representing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), he earned notoriety due to his mighty six-striking capabilities. His opener association with Sunil Narine proved extremely productive.

But in international cricket, Lynn had a tough time.
He played just 4 ODIs and 18 T20Is for Australia but never managed a regular place. Injuries also hampered his career, and he was dropped from the Australian side.

5. Albie Morkel (South Africa)
Albie Morkel was one of the main players for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the initial years of the IPL.
He was an all-rounder who was famous for his big-hitting and useful medium-pace bowling. He scored numerous match-winning innings for CSK.

But in international cricket, he did not succeed. He played 58 ODIs and 50 T20Is for South Africa but never became a part of the team regularly. His international career also came to an end without leaving any impact.
