The 30-year-old was the captain of the under-19 team that won the 2014 under-19 World Cup in the UAE. In that tournament, he scored 370 runs with an average of 123.33 and a strike rate of 77.89, scoring 2 centuries and 1 half century. Markram scored 66 in the final of that tournament against Pakistan, where South Africa needed just 132 to win the final. In that tournament, Markram was named the man of the tournament.

2.Kagiso Rabada

Rabada played a crucial role in the 2025 WTC final as his performance laid the foundation for South Africa's win. The pacer took full advantage after South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl. The 30-year-old cracked open the Australian batting line-up in the first innings, claiming 5/51 and taking crucial wickets. In the second innings, he registered figures of 4/59. 

Rabada was also a key figure during the 2104 under-19 World Cup in UAE when he claimed 10 wickets in the tournament with best figures of 6/25 against Australia in the semi-final, an economy rate of 3.10 and an average of 10.28. He was the second-highest wicket-taker in that tournament. In the final against Pakistan, his figures were 28/1 which were quite impressive as he didn't allow the Pakistani batters to score easily.

3. Corbin Bosch

Bosch is amongst the most exciting all rounders in South African set up at the moment. He was included in the 2025 WTC final playing XI. He made his test debut last year against Pakistan, where he claimed 4/63 in the first innings of the first test at Centurion and also scored an impressive unbeaten 81.

The 30-year-old all-rounder was the player of the match during the final of the 2014 Under-19 World Cup against Pakistan in the UAE when he registered figures of 4/15 and also claimed 9 wickets in that tournament with an average of 14.66 and an economy rate of 3.25.

The St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have officially revealed their squad for the 2025 Caribbean Premier League (CPL), building a formidable unit for the upcoming season. With a combination of international firepower and homegrown Caribbean flair, the Patriots are aiming for a strong comeback after a quiet run in recent editions. The squad announcement came following the official draft held on June 18, which also included the unveiling of retained and newly signed players.

The overseas players, including Rilee Rossouw (South Africa), Fazalhaq Farooqi and Waqar Salamkheil (Afghanistan), Corbin Bosch (South Africa), and Mohammad Nawaz (Pakistan), will provide quality and variations in the batting and bowling attack. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a legal notice to South African cricketer Corbin Bosch after he withdrew from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to play for the Mumbai Indians as an additional player in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The schedules of the PSL and IPL are overlapping for the first time, causing unexpected conflicts regarding player availability.

Bosch's PSL Commitment and IPL Move

Bosch was picked up by Peshawar Zalmi in the Diamond category of the PSL 2025 Players Draft, which took place in Lahore on January 13. But just a few days ago, he was named in the Mumbai Indians squad as an injury replacement for Lizaad Williams.

Responding to this, the PCB sent a legal notice to Bosch by his agent, requesting him to clarify his PSL withdrawal. The board has also outlined what would happen in case of his contract breach and is awaiting a response within a fixed timeframe.

PSL and IPL Clash for the First Time

Ever since its inception in 2016, the PSL has been played during February-March. But because of Pakistan's international games and Champions Trophy 2025, the tournament was forced to be realigned in April-May, clashing with the IPL for the very first time.

Due to this shift in scheduling, many foreign players who remained unsold in the IPL auction signed up with PSL franchises later on. Bosch was among them, but his decision to quit the league at the last minute has now created a controversy.

What's Next?

Bosch's reaction to the legal notice will be pivotal in deciding the PCB's course of action. His case could also serve as a precedent for future conflicts between leagues, since both tournaments battle for the best international players.

The question that this situation brings to mind is this: Should players respect their PSL contracts, or should they be allowed to change leagues if a better option presents itself?

In a mid-season shake-up, the Mumbai Indians have signed in South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch as a replacement for another South African player, Lizaad Williams, ruled out of IPL 2025. MI confirmed his signing on its official channels, with the announcement only coming just before the start of the tournament.

He fetched a sum of precious price at the IPL 2025 auction and has not made it into the training camps because he suffered from an injury. MI did not speak about the specific conditions that would cause him to be absent, with his unavailability leading the side to look for an eventual replacement.

Corbin Bosch comes in to fill the void. He is a 29-year-old all-rounder who can bowl at a sharp seam and bat in the lower middle order. Recently, his performances in domestic and franchise cricket have made him a promising candidate for an IPL gig.

He has made a name for himself as one of the more reliable bowlers out there having played in the SA20 League and other T20 circuits, while he can also increase the scoring rate when needed. In the past, he had been part of the Rajasthan Royals setup as a net bowler so IPL is right up his alley.

Bosch's inclusion is, in fact, a much-needed addition that provides Mumbai Indians with substantial depth in their bowling attack, complemented by Jasprit Bumrah, Gerald Coetzee, and Jason Behrendorff. Corbin Bosch having a dream Test debut

On Day 1 Corbin Bosch picked up a wicket off the very first ball in Test cricket making him the 5th bowler from South Africa to do it. He picked up 4 wickets which helped South Africa restrict Pakistan to 211 in the first innings.

In response to Pakistan's 211 South Africa was able to post 301 on the board. Opener Aiden Markram was the highest scorer for them with 89(144) 11 runs short of his well-deserved hundred. When Markram was dismissed South Africa was in deep trouble as they were 213-8 leading by only 2 runs. But then debutant Corbin Bosch shined with the bat as well and remained unbeaten at the end with 81 runs in 93 balls. His partnership with Kagiso Rabada and Dane Paterson took Proteas to a total of 301 and a healthy lead of 90 runs. Corbin Bosch's half-century on Test debut also made him the first South African to achieve the remarkable feat of a four-wicket haul and a 50+ score on Test debut. It was also his highest first-class score. His fifty was the Second-fastest fifty (46 balls) on Test debut for South Africa. It was the Highest score by a South African debutant batting at 9 or lower.

Is Corbin Bosch part of any IPL franchise for the 2025 season?

Unfortunately, Corbin Bosch went unsold in the IPL Auction 2025. With the impact player reducing the value of all-rounders in IPL, Corbin Bosch couldn’t fetch him a contract this time around. Indian All-Rounder Ravichandran Ashwin worked closely with Corbin Bosch with Rajasthan Royals three years ago. Corbin Bosch removes Shan Masood off the opening ball of his over to join the elite list

Corbin Bosch joins the elite list after getting the wicket of Pakistan's Skipper Shan Masood off the very first ball of his over in this format. He was bought into the attack after the drinks break. He makes an immediate impact for the hosts after an unlucky first hour of play.

Bosch bowled a full delivery outside off, tempting Shan Masood into a loose drive. Masood, the Pakistan captain, went for the shot but edged the ball thickly. It flew to the gully, where Marco Jansen pulled off an incredible catch. Bosch gave South Africa their first breakthrough, sending Masood back to the pavilion for 17 runs off 58 balls.

Bosch's first ball wicket achieves the rare feat in Cricket history

Corbin Bosch with a wicket off the first ball of his Test cricket. He is the third bowler to do it in 2024 after Shamar Joseph and Tshepo Moreki. It is the first time in Test history that three bowlers have achieved this feat in a calendar year.

Shamar Joseph dismissed Steven Smith on his first ball at the Adelaide Oval in January, while Tshepo Moreki got Devon Conway at Mount Maunganui in February. Overall, Corbin Bosch became the 25th bowler in the history of Test cricket to take a wicket on the first ball of their career.
