India U19 produced a dominant performance with the bat to secure a 55-run victory over England U19 in the fourth Youth ODI at Worcester, sealing the win in five-match series 3–1 lead with one game to spare. After being put in to bat, India piled up a mammoth 363/9 in their 50 overs, with sensational centuries by Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Vihan Malhotra. England, despite a valiant hundred from Rocky Flintoff, were bowled out for 308 in 45.3 overs.

India U19 Innings: 363/9 in 50 Overs

Openers Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi gave India a steady start, but it was Suryavanshi’s explosive knock of 143 off 78 balls that lit up the innings. Suryavanshi smashed 13 fours and 10 sixes at a strike rate of 183.33. Vihan Malhotra played the anchor perfectly with a composed 129 from 121 balls, with 15 fours and 3 sixes. The two combined for a mammoth partnership of 218 runs for the second wicket. Though India lost a few quick wickets in the middle, contributions from Abhigyan Kundu (23) and Yudhajit Guha (15*) ensured they crossed the 360-run mark. England’s Jack Home (3/63) and Sebastian Morgan (3/54) picked up key wickets but couldn’t prevent the onslaught.

England U19 Innings: 308/10 in 45.3 Overs

Chasing a 308 target, England’s top order faltered early, slipping to 104/2 despite Joe Moores’ (52) and Ben Dawkins’ (67) efforts. The innings was revived by a superb century from Rocky Flintoff, who struck 107 off 91 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes. But the absence of consistent support from the middle and lower orders made England lose steam. Indian bowlers kept chipping away—Ambrish R. S. (2/55) and Kanishk Chouhan (1/54) being strict, while Naman Pushpak (3/63) and picked two wickets at crucial moments. Run-outs further dented England's chase as they folded for 308 in the end, 55 runs short.

India U19 beat England U19 by 6 wickets in the series opener at the County Ground, Hove. England won the toss and opted to bat first but were bundled out for 174 in 42.2 overs. Despite Rocky Flintoff’s solid 56 and Isaac Mohammed’s fiery 42, India’s bowling attack, led by Kanishk Chouhan and RS Ambrish, kept the hosts under control. In response, India U19 chased the target in just 24 overs, thanks to a blitzkrieg by Vaibhav Suryavanshi (48 off 19) and a composed finishing act from Abhigyan Kundu (45*). With this win, India takes a 1–0 lead in the three-match ODI series.

England U19 Innings: 174/10 in 42.2 Overs

England began well but could not turn their beginning into a big total. Isaac Mohammed opened with a counterattack in the innings, breaking away for 42 off a mere 28 balls through 4 fours and 3 sixes. Isaac and BJ Dawkins (18 off 29) had contributed 39 for the first wicket. Rocky Flintoff was the highest scorer with a long wait of 56 off 90 balls, scoring 3 boundaries while keeping the innings afloat. But the rest of the batting order let the side down, no other batsman crossing 20. Joseph Moores (9), Ben Mayes (16), and James Minto (10) got out cheaply while wickets continued to fall. India's bowling was relentless and penetrative—Kanishk Chouhan was the most economical, with 3/20 in 10 overs. RS Ambrish and Mohamed Enaan took 2 wickets apiece, with Henil Patel also taking two wickets, including the key scalp of Flintoff in the 43rd over. England were bowled out for 174, with extras adding 7 runs.

India U19 Innings: 178/4 in 24 Overs

While chasing 175, India U19 got off to a flier with Vaibhav Suryavanshi's explosive 48 off 19 balls (3 fours, 5 sixes) at a strike rate of 252.63. He shared a 71-run stand with captain Ayush Mhatre (21 off 30) before both fell in quick succession. Even after losing Maulyarajsinh Chavda (16 off 15) and Vihaan Malhotra (18 off 21), India was comfortably placed at 123/4. The chase was smoothly wrapped up by wicketkeeper-batter Abhigyan Kundu, who remained unbeaten on 45 off 34 balls, smashing 4 fours and a six. Rahul Kumar gave him steady company with an unbeaten 17. England’s bowling was largely ineffective—AM French picked up 2/30, and Jack Home and Ralphie Albert claimed one wicket each, but they couldn’t stem the run flow. India cruised to 178/4 in 24 overs, sealing a confident six-wicket win and taking the early lead in the series.

ENG U19 vs IND U19, 1st ODI: Key performances

  • Vaibhav's Explosive Start: Suryavanshi's 48 off 19 got India off to a rollicking start and broke the spirit of England.
