New Zealand quick Adam Milne was spotted practising with his Texas Super Kings (TSK) squad members during a routine training session for the upcoming edition of the Major Cricket League (MLC). Although bowling is his primary skill set, Milne, for a change, was getting some batting practice in the nets.

In a recent video, which has now become viral, Milne brought back the memories of India's Suryakumar Yadav. Surya, also known as SKY, is highly regarded for his inventive strokeplay. The Kiwi pacer took a leaf out of his book and executed a near-flawless Supla Shot with his back foot up in the air.

That shot triggered an instant reaction from his Black Caps teammate Daryll Mitchell. Mitchell will also take part in the upcoming MLC tournament and will feature for the Texas Super Kings. He was accompanied by two other teammates, and they instantly started clapping and chanting "Shot Surya"

The Supla Shot is one of the classiest signature shots of Suryakumar Yadav. It is a shot which he has executed with incredible success in the limited-overs format, both domestically and internationally. With his power and excellent hand-eye coordination, Surya is comfortably able to deposit the ball over fine leg at will.

But Milne made that shot look so easy while batting in the nets. Being a low-order batter, executing a shot like that is surely commendable and needs adequate appreciation. TSK's campaign will begin on June 14 when they take on MI New York in the second fixture of the MLC 2025 league. It will be Milne's maiden appearance in this league. Previously, the Kiwi pacer was seen in action in the recently concluded PSL. He featured in the final two games of the tournament for Karachi Kings and had very little success as he finished wicketless.

At the international level, Milne was last seen in action for the Black Caps in 2024. He played his last ODI match against Sri Lanka in Pallekele, which ended in a washout, whereas his last T20I appearance came against Australia at home, where he bagged figures of 1-20 in a rain-affected fixture which New Zealand went on to lose on DLS.

<![CDATA[IPL Auction 2024: Top-3 probable targets by Rajasthan Royals in the mini auction]]> https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-analysis/ipl-auction-2024-top-3-probable-targets-by-rajasthan-royals-in-the-mini-auction/ https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-analysis/ipl-auction-2024-top-3-probable-targets-by-rajasthan-royals-in-the-mini-auction/ Thu, 07 Dec 2023 23:48:20 GMT

Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be the second-lowest bidder in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction. They only have INR 14.50 crores to spend and would have to make wise decisions. They released nine players before the mini-auction and acquired Avesh Khan from the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) after trading their left-hand opener Devdutt Padikkal.

In the previous two seasons, RR’s plan was apparent. They intend to assemble a powerful XI and spend more money on them. Based on that, they now focus on enhancing their top and middle order to achieve the team’s fruitful results. Here are the three probable buys by the Rajasthan Royals in the 2024 IPL Mini Auction.

 • Daryll Mitchell

Though Daryl Mitchell had associations with the franchise in the 2022 edition and wasn’t pleasing with just a mere two-match appearance, he was released from the team. But, with an impeccable cricketing performance across all formats of the game, with the recently concluded CWC 2023 in India being the highlight, Rajasthan Royals can repurchase him, as he is familiar with the Indian conditions and help strengthen the middle order and provide some medium pace to the team.

 • Harry Brook

When Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) broke the bank for Harry Brook in the previous auctions, they anticipated big things from him. However, with a triple-digit figure, he failed miserably with the willow. As a result, the English emerging star was released by the Orange Army before the IPL 2024 auction.

However, the Rajasthan Royals might pursue him and slot him at No.4 or 5, with Shimron Hetmyer finishing the job. RR had Joe Root, but he opted out, leaving the inaugural winners with three abroad positions to fill. Brook will fit in perfectly since he is a natural middle-order hitter, something RR urgently needs.

 • Shardul Thakur

The Rajasthan Royals have omitted Jason Holder, which makes a vacant spot available for a stable all-rounder. However, RR would still want a speed all-rounder, and any domestic player would be a plus. Shardul Thakur is an excellent choice for this post. Thakur is a speed all-rounder who, while less valuable in T20s, is still valid. Shardul will perform well because the tracks in Jaipur were sluggish last time. Not to mention his ability to take wickets and bat in the lower order.
