Fielding is undoubtedly one of the important aspects in T20 Cricket. A brilliant catch can turn the game on its head and decide the outcome of a particular match. Since the format was introduced about two decades ago, the format has witnessed changes in all departments. Fielding has become one of the prime factors.

T20 cricket has witnessed some of the finest fielders who have showcased their class with some class fielding and outstanding catching abilities. The South African left-hander has taken 318 catches in 530 T20 games. Miller has shown his prowess with his hard shitting batting but as a well fielder the 36 year old is lighting quick. Miller has taken some brilliant catches while fielding at the point and cover area. 

3.Dwayne Bravo (275 catches in 582 T20 games)-

Another Trinidadian who has showcased outstanding fitness as a fielder, setting high standards on the field. The 41-year-old former West Indian all-rounder has taken 275 catches in 582 T20 games with his lightning-quick fielding. Bravo's ability to anticipate and time his jump perfectly is simply amazing.

 Bravo has played for different franchises globally in different T20 tournaments, where he has plucked some glorious catches. His ability to attempt a catch at backwards point, short third man and cover is amazing. Bravo has a rocket arm through which he can execute powerful throws. He can also field at gully and slips.

4.James Vince (244 catches in 438 T20 games)-

James Vince's quick reflexes and his ability to judge a catch inside the ring is second to none. The 34-year-old English cricketer has taken 244 catches in 438 T20 games, taking some unbelievable catches at long on and deep square leg. He can be a vital option at cover or point area. Vince has the ability to cover the ground quickly.

5.Glenn Maxwell (244 catches in 472 T20 games)-

Maxwell's athleticism is second to none as the Australian right-hander has taken some brilliant catches at point as well as the covers area. Maxwell can destroy the best bowling line-ups on his day with his destructive batting, but as a fielder, he is equally brilliant. The 36-year-old is a fine catcher at the silly point and short leg area. He can execute powerful throws from the outfield. He has taken 244 catches in 472 T20 games.

West Indies Champions Squad – WCL 2025

Dwayne Bravo recently requested the USA Cricket Board to include Unmukt Chand in the USA national side. He stated that the former India Under-19 World Cup-winning captain shouldn't be victimised due to politics.

The 32-year-old left India for the USA in the hope of getting playing opportunities in the USA national team. Since moving to the USA, Unmukt Chand has so far not made his debut for the USA national team and has been overlooked by the selectors, which is surprising.

Unmukt Chand is currently playing for the Los Angeles Knight Riders team in the Major League Cricket (MLC). Currently, Bravo is the head coach of the Los Angeles team. He stated in his Instagram post: "This guy needs to be in the USA cricket team! Cricket is bigger than politics; let's do right for these players. Well done!."

Bravo commented on Unmukt Chand after the right-hander scored a brilliant 86 in 56 balls against Seattle Orcas on the 22nd of June during the MLC game. The right-hander has looked in decent form during the 2025 MLC season so far, scoring 161 runs in 4 innings with a strike rate of 134.16.

Unmukt Chand on his exclusion from the USA national team during the 2024 T20 World Cup

The 32-year-old stated that he was surprised after not being included in the USA team for the T20 World Cup. The right-hander had stated (through Cricbuzz) in a press conference last year that he had worked hard for the last 3 years for the mega event. Unmukt Chand also played for Mumbai Indians in the 2015 IPL season helping the team win the trophy, scoring 300 runs in 15 games.

"That wasn't an ideal situation to be in. Because personally, for me, this was what I had dreamed of for the last three years. Obviously, it was a big shock. And it took me time to sort of come to terms with it. It's never easy as a player, having lost all these things back home in India, to having this one goal, which had kept me going for the last three years not happening. So it is difficult. I won't say which just happened. But it was difficult. I was not my best self for some time," Chand said.

Trinbago Knight Riders have appointed West Indies legend Dwayne Bravo as their new head coach for the CPL 2025 season. Team manager Colin Borde confirmed the news, which is a big change in the coaching configuration for the four-time champions. Bravo will take over from former West Indies coach Phil Simmons, who had joined the franchise in 2023.

TKR Announce Squad for CPL 2025

The Trinbago Knight Riders have officially announced their team for the next 2025 Caribbean Premier League season. The franchise has retained their seasoned core with T20 veterans such as Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Nicholas Pooran, and Akeal Hosein. The CPL 2025 draft was conducted on June 18, in which all six franchises completed their rosters. Former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has concluded his illustrious journey with Chennai Super Kings (CSK), a franchise with which he won four IPL titles. Bravo will now transition to a mentorship role at Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) from the 2025 season, marking the next chapter in his cricketing career.

Bravo bids farewell to CSK, joins KKR as mentor

Dwayne Bravo, who turns 41 in October, has officially joined KKR as a mentor for IPL 2025, replacing Gautam Gambhir, who recently took over as India’s head coach. This change follows Gambhir’s leadership in helping KKR secure their third IPL title. Bravo’s move was confirmed soon after his retirement from all forms of cricket, including T20 leagues, which he announced a day prior to his appointment.

The move comes after Bravo’s meeting with KKR CEO Venky Mysore during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), where they finalized a long-term agreement. In addition to his role with KKR, Bravo will oversee all Knight Riders franchises in other T20 leagues, including Trinbago Knight Riders (CPL), Los Angeles Knight Riders (MLC), and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ILT20).

Venky Mysore expressed his excitement about Bravo’s arrival: “DJ Bravo joining us is an exciting development. His relentless drive to win, along with his vast experience and deep knowledge, will greatly benefit our franchise and players.”

Bravo’s transition from player to coach

Dwayne Bravo, who was part of CSK’s iconic squad, enjoyed a successful stint with the franchise after joining them in 2011. He retired from playing in the IPL after the 2022 season but stayed with CSK, transitioning to their bowling coach for the 2023 season. His impact was immediate, as CSK clinched their fifth IPL title that year, defeating defending champions Gujarat Titans.

Bravo has an illustrious T20 career, being the third-highest wicket-taker in IPL history and the only player to win the Purple Cap twice. His experience in the game, especially as a death bowler, made him a crucial player and, later, an astute tactician.
